The Cardiff adventure

Why do all the fun weekends go by so fast?!

I don't often take part in girlie weekends, but I recently spent a weekend with some good friends having lots of fun, taking in a couple of shows in Cardiff and just vegging out.

After a busy few weeks at work preparing for our divisional conference in the Midlands, I was glad of a few days away from work doing something other than booking travel and accommodation for almost 300 fundraisers.  So on Friday Andy and I set off to the Glastonbury, where he was going to spend a solitary weekend partaking in one of his favourite past times of searching second hand bookshops for a bargain or two in his most favourite place in the world.  We spent the day together and had a lovely Italian meal at Gigi's  restaurant before I set off to pick my friend up at Taunton station on the way to Langtry Country House, which is the bet B&B in Somerset...if not the whole of the west country, take a look http://www.langtrycountryhouse.co.uk/

Langtry is the most idyllic place if you want to spend a weekend in Somerset visiting lovely old towns like Dunster, walking along the beach or taking a steam train ride from Minehead to Bishops Lideard.  We did none of that this time however, instead we played with my friend Susan's dogs, Molly and Alice in the beautiful garden, ate lots of lovely home made goodies then went to the Motorpoint Arena on Saturday to see Question of Sport Live, we were on Matt Dawson's team...and back again Sunday to see John Barrowman, who assured us we'd be farting sparkles by the end of th night!!  Both shows were brilliant and well worth the trips.
